Also, where did you buy the PS2 and where did you buy the games? Aren't both able to play PS1 games? What's the condition of your games? Gmoneyrocks I believe so, but it's a persistent rumour that they don't, so someone was going to ask.
I'm really just fishing for more info, because as is, the question doesn't give us enough to do more than guess wildly why it's not working. Yeah, game condition is a good question! Also good call on the region lock.

I made XX. Maybe the USB drive is bad in some way ELF scheme, so I don't know No change. Might have to settle for manually selecting the ELF files. I have a workaround for PS2 games with my discs. Last edited: Aug 15, Fragmented game image may not boot, cause trouble, crash at certain moments.
Additionally you can format USB device all data will be erase , copy game images once again into e. DVD folder. As for PS1 games. VCD directly. Coro , Aug 15, Alright thanks guys. I'm backing up and reformatting now using Rufus. You see, PS2s were made a long time ago, for older TV's. They weren't designed for flat screen or HD format. Don't be surprised if the picture quality is bad too. Not Helpful 7 Helpful 5. Make sure the PS is on and working, then check if the CD is valid. You can do this by trying another CD.
Not Helpful 16 Helpful 3. I've had the same problem! I tried cleaning the disc, and then used a laser-cleaning CD that has microbrushes on the bottom to clean the laser that reads your disc. If that doesn't work, then I would suggest replacing your PS2 with something more modern. Not Helpful 15 Helpful 3. Enter "System Configuration" and go to "Language", then change the language to what you want it to be.
Not Helpful 1 Helpful 3. That means it is overheated. If you can, open the PS2 and look at the fan. Make sure that it is plugged in to the motherboard. You also might need to put in a better ventilated area. Not Helpful 0 Helpful 4. What do I do if my PS2 games play okay, but the images on the screen are jagged? Chances are the disc has a lot of scratches. Try cleaning it with toothpaste and a microfiber cloth. There is a possibility it might be overheated; check if the red light is flashing when it turns off.
One of your power cables might also be loose or damaged. This is most likely caused by overheating. Keep your PS2 in a well-ventilated area, or add a cooling pad if necessary.
It's possible that your PS2 includes a chip that shuts off after the laser malfunctions to prevent damage as well, but this is most likely a case of overheating. Not Helpful 1 Helpful 6. After opening my PS2, it worked, but it wasn't giving lights on buttons and after some time it wasn't working.
I checked all cables but that did not help. What should I do? Look on the back for the power switch, and then make sure its on. Also, make sure your outlet is working. Not Helpful 10 Helpful 1. Include your email address to get a message when this question is answered.

You Might Also Like How to. Any time I try to play any PlayStation 1 game It won't allow me to. I don't think the problem is the games , I think it has to do with my PlayStation 2 , but nothing seems to be wrong with it.
If it's the PS2 slim you are experiencing issues with, then there is a solution. All you have to do is insert the PS1 game inside the PS2 console while still off , and then press the power button three 3 times in a row. This should allow the PS1 game to be played on the PS2 slim. Hope this was helpful! There were issues with the laser and the alignment on the PS2. The PS1 disks are a tad darker so in theory the laser is not strong enough to read through the darker discs from the PS1.
